Chicken manure drying equipment-a new era of digital management
With the rapid expansion of egg-laying chicken farming, large-scale farms with hundreds of thousands to millions of chickens are emerging. Air-drying chicken manure is a key revenue-generating project, and its efficiency and profitability are crucial. However, traditional air-drying equipment faces persistent bottlenecks.
To address this, we have targeted industry challenges and innovatively launched the “Air Drying Cloud” module for digital farms. Leveraging technologies such as the Internet of Things and big data, we have successfully addressed four core pain points:
High-power fans consume a lot of electricity.
High-power fans whirr, driving up electricity bills and becoming energy hogs. The profit from selling chicken manure is not enough to cover the electricity bill.
Rapid equipment wear.
High temperatures, high humidity, and corrosive ammonia gases cause machine parts to break down frequently, requiring expensive repairs and downtime.
Is the chicken manure dried?
How much chicken manure is air-dried per day in a chicken coop? Is selling chicken manure profitable?
How’s the air drying system?
The fan has been running all day, but I don’t know how dry the chicken manure is. Is the moisture content at a sellable level?
Intelligent Air Drying Solution
To address the four core issues mentioned above, the “Air Drying Cloud” intelligent module, a core tool of the Digital Farming Solution, was developed. Its value goes far beyond basic equipment networking. Its core lies in building a “data perception and intelligent decision-making hub” that permeates the entire air drying process.
This hub collects and analyzes data in real time, driving intelligent analysis of the air drying process and making optimized decisions based on this data. This systematically addresses the challenges faced by traditional models:
1. Operation Status Monitoring
The system integrates deeply with key equipment such as fans, conveyors, and material leveling devices, collecting operating status (start/stop, speed, load), temperature and humidity data during the air drying process, and real-time operating power and power consumption. This transforms the air drying process from a “black box” to a “transparent” one.
2. Production Energy Consumption Monitoring
The system’s core functions focus on in-depth energy consumption analysis and cost control. It displays dry manure production for a selected date range, analyzes energy consumption per ton of dry manure, and correlates this with the impact of external temperature and humidity during the same period. Based on accurate energy consumption data and production information, the module automatically calculates the comprehensive cost per ton of dry manure (primarily covering electricity costs), providing users with a key decision-making basis for cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
3. Abnormal Situation Alerts
The system continuously monitors key equipment operating indicators, intelligently analyzes abnormal fluctuations, provides early warnings of potential failures, and guides the rational scheduling of maintenance, shifting from reactive repairs to proactive maintenance. This effectively extends equipment life and reduces the risk of unplanned downtime.
The accompanying Wanhua digital cloud platform makes livestock farming management more convenient and efficient. Through the cloud platform, farmers can remotely access various chicken house data, including information collected by robotic inspections. Furthermore, secondary analysis of this data, powered by the company’s big data analytics platform, provides farmers with a scientific basis for decision-making, truly enabling smart farming. Addressing pain points and enhancing competitiveness.
The combination of this inspection robot and the inspection cloud effectively addresses the pain points of livestock farming companies: not only does it reduce the high labor and time costs of farm inspections, but it also enables timely detection of abnormalities in chickens that are undetectable manually. This improves productivity and enhances competitiveness, helping farmers achieve greater success in the digital age.
The Future of Digital Farming
The “Air Drying Cloud” system is a key component of the digital farm solution. When data from various farm subsystems is interconnected, intelligent operations are significantly improving the livestock farming industry. Within the intelligent farming platform, modules such as the Farming Cloud, Central Control Cloud, Inspection Cloud, Environmental Control Cloud, Equipment Cloud, and Air Drying Cloud work together to form an integrated management system. For example, inspection robots can monitor the health of the chickens; the environmental control system can more precisely regulate the temperature stability of the chicken house (within ±2 degrees Celsius), helping to improve production performance.
Digital twin technology opens the door to virtual optimization. By constructing a 1:1 3D dynamic model, the real farm is recreated on a digital screen, truly embodying the concept of a digital farm.
“It used to take two people to raise 5,000 chickens; now, only one person manages 300,000.” Digital technology is changing the rules of the game in this age-old industry.
The implementation of the “Air Drying Cloud” module has provided a digital, intelligent, and efficient solution for chicken manure air drying. Its model of using data to optimize processes and intelligence to improve decision-making is accelerating the evolution of the aquaculture industry towards a more efficient, environmentally friendly and intelligent future operating model.
